Shopping, fashion shows, insider talks – the girliest day out at BSC, Liverpool!
This year the Clothes Show hosted a brand new event called The British Style Collective. I’ve been to the Clothes Show a handful of times and have always loved it! But this year, they changed things up and created The British Style Collective. The original Clothes Show was held in the NEC, Birmingham, but this also changed with the event being held in four separate venues across Liverpool – which were all veryyy nice.
The Clothes Show & BSC consist of a big fashion show and lots of stalls for shopping and sampling, as well as insider talks, tutorials and smaller fashion shows. Even though the event is based around fashion, there are always a large number of beauty stalls, that specialise in skincare and makeup. I particularly like the events as you can discover and try new brands and products, and it’s great for fashion inspiration too! I also love the fact that brands make and sell exclusive goodie bags of their products, especially for the events – they’re fab!
There are always a good range of brands at the events, from well-known skincare brands such as Elemis, to newer brands such as Spectrum, and many smaller, independent brands. I actually didn’t buy much at this years event, as there wasn’t as many brands that caught my attention. But I did purchase three of the goodie bags I mentioned earlier – including Nanshy, Being by Sanctuary Spa, and Glamor Magazine.
There are also so many other fun things to do like watching smaller tutorials and talks, entering competitions, and taking snaps in photo booths. Not to mention the bar.. even if it was a little pricey. This year, Pixi’s stall included a hashtag printing photo machine. All you had to do was take a photo at their stall, post the photo on Instagram using a specific hashtag, and within seconds your photo was printed and ready for you to collect!
Speaking of competitions – my best friend won a competition hosted by The Liverpool Guide – £150 worth of food and drink to spend at one of Liverpool’s most fashionable, sort-after and instagramable restaurants – Neighbourhood!! We were so excited as we’d previously planned to go in for a cocktail, however now we were able to not only buy more than one cocktail, but also enjoy food their too! We ended up staying there the whole night and had such a great time!! (Anyone who has me on instagram will know from my extensive story.. @charlotteeamandaa)
I had a great day with my bestie, exploring Liverpool, singing along at the fashion show and having a shop. However, compared to other years I’ve attended, it wasn’t as good.. The atmosphere just wasn’t the same. The Clothes Show and fashion show are usually so busy, however BSC seemed quite quiet, and the vibe wasn’t the same. We chatted to multiple stall holders and they agreed that the BSC was quite different from the original Clothes Show, and some even believed that it would return to the NEC. However, that’s just my opinion! I still had a great day out but it just didn’t compare to previous years for myself and a number of others.
